Bridlewood Winery, Santa Ynez, CA – David and Monique

I met David and Monique in Los Olivos just outside of Santa Barbara in the heart of SoCal wine country. The weather was perfect and David and Monique were an absolute treat to be around. After getting some photos in Los Olivos we made out way to the Bridlewood Estate Winery, which is an absolutely gorgeous winery with an amazing tree lined entrance. By the end of the day we had spent nearly an entire day wandering around taking pics, tasting some wine, taking more pics and just having a really great time! They were extremely fun and easy to shoot and it felt more like I was enjoying a day in wine country with friends than it did like I was hard at work. But alas, we were there for photos! So here are some samples. Enjoy!

Sara and Jason, Harmony Wynelads, Lodi CA

I have had several Northern California Weddings this year (2 in August!) and I love it up there. So pretty and I am definitely a big fan of Vineyard Weddings. Lodi features several Vineyards that host weddings, but I must say I really enjoyed Harmony Wynelands. The grounds are beautiful and ideal for a small to medium sized wedding. The ceremony location and reception site are both quaint but pretty and personable. Being surrounded by a lush vineyard at sunset doesn’t hurt the ambiance either. There are so many different locations at Harmony that are great for photos, so of course that makes me happy as well! The flowers and tables were done by Blossoms by Lisa. Lisa is fantastic and the flowers were beautiful and really added to the entire feel of the wedding.

Sara and Jason were an absolute delight to be working with, though I admit I am slightly biased as I actually know them personally as well. So it was fun for me to be there and capture their memories for them.

Jenni and Daman, Oak Farm Vineyards, Lodi CA

I have really been enjoying utilizing everything around me when I shoot weddings. Locations can be key, but trying to use them in different ways to create new effects can be one of the fun challenges that I thoroughly enjoy. The trick can be finding the right props and being prepared for any situation.

Jenni and Daman were a true delight and were able to meet me at the ceremony site the day before the wedding to walk through the location – Oak Farm Vineyards, Lodi CA – together. We came across the blue truck, as featured below, and I was immediately drawn to it and got very excited about being able to use it. There was, however, an inherent problem with using the truck: it was filthy inside and out. Obviously dirt and wedding dresses don’t mix, so it was key that we were able to find the truck in advance so that we could bring towels and cleaning supplies the next day in order to make sure that nothing would stain or ruin Jenni’s dress and, in this case, Daman’s white tux as well!
