Esther and Ramon, Holy Family Catholic Church/Sheraton Cerritos Hotel

I shot Esther and Ramon’s engagement session at Disneyland earlier this year and ever since then I have been super excited about shooting their wedding! We had so much fun that day and they are both so energetic and funny I just knew their wedding was going to be a blast…and it was!! And beautiful too!

We started the day at Esther’s house for some getting ready photos:

Esther was very excited about her shoes… and we could definitely see why!

From there it was off to the church. Both Esther and Ramon arrived in style. Classic old cars:

They left in just as much style as they showed up in!

From there it was off to the sculpture gardens in Cerritos for some group shots!

There are those shoes again!

Then we spent some time with just Esther and Ramon!

And we finished it all off with a beautiful reception at the Sheraton in Cerritos!

Jennifer and Robert, L.A. Arboretum

This was my first time shooting at the L.A. Arboretum and I loved it! If you have never been, then put it on your to do list! Not far from the Huntington Library, it is a giant expanse of different gardens and landscapes and ideal for weddings! While it covers a lot of land, they do provide trams for getting from place to place! I particularly enjoyed the Catawumpus exhibit (basically a giant man made nest). We had a ton of fun playing around with all of the different nooks and crannies it had to offer. Jennifer and Robert were absolutely delightful to work with and I think they really enjoyed getting to play around in the Catawumpus as well. From start to finish it was an absolutely beautiful day and I had a lot of fun with Jennfier and Robert!

Rachel and Jeremy, San Juan Capistrano Mission

San Juan Capistrano is now one of my favorite places to shoot! Man we had fun with this one. Aside from using the gorgeous mission, the whole area is filled with awesome finds! Rachel recommended we use the mission, and the small fee they charge to shoot there was totally worth it! Although, beware: they close much earlier than you would anticipate. After the mission we walked down to the train station and the small old town village hiding on the other side which, was filled with great little old style homes, museums, and even a petting zoo! Next time we are all over that!

Rachel and Jeremy were an absolute delight and I am very excited to be part of their wedding! We had a ton of fun and I can’t wait to shoot with them again on their big day!

Netsy and Caleb Engagement Session – Pasadena, Ca

This was the first time I have finally gotten to use my new home town for an engagement shoot! I moved to Pasadena a few months back and so far most of my weddings have been taking place in Orange County or on the west side and we have done either beach engagement sessions or missions etc. Finally I got a chance to use some of my local finds!! I also got to shoot with Netsy and Caleb who are an absolute delight! I had met Netsy several times in the past and I have always enjoyed seeing her, but I finally got to meet her fiancee Caleb! The two of them are so much fun to be around. They have so much fun with each other, which always makes the shoot more fun!

We spent a few hours hitting old town and a few local parks and by the time we were done we pretty much entertained the entire local populations (human and animal alike). I am very excited to start shooting around here more and I am very excited to be part of Netsy and Caleb’s wedding. It is going to be a blast!

Araceli and Anthony, Coco Palms Restaurant and Pudding Stones

Araceli and Anthony were some of the sweetest people I have worked with and I really enjoyed being a part of their day. It was a little windy on the hill top where we took the family portraits so we had a fun time managing stray hairs and making sure my umbrella strobes didn’t fall over (more than once..oops). But I think everything turned out well in spite of the fun challenges! If you are ever looking for a hot tub with a view, be sure to check out Puddingstones! I had no idea they were up there, but it is fantastic!

The ceremony was held at the Coco Palms restaurant (formerly known as Copa Cabana). My wife and I used to eat there all of the time and we love for many reasons, not the least of which is the view. Set on a hillside covered in palm trees and overlooking the valley for a perfect view of the sunset it makes for the perfect, quaint, and romantic wedding locale. All in all it was fun, beautiful, and full of fantastic people that I am happy to know!
