Matt & Brittany’s E-Session Spectacular!
We went a little nuts with this session, and I freaking love it! From the planning to the execution I knew this was going to be a day to remember. So glad I wasn’t wrong about that. -Winky Face Emoticon-
Matthew and Brittany are both power packs of personality and fun and I really wanted to capture that about them as well as incorporate some of what makes them tick. It became clear very quickly that they both share a passion for movies, music, and the arts. So this session was definitely tilted in a direction towards the creative, colorful, and thematic. In scouting I really wanted to utilize a lot of color while also capturing a classic feel so I was immediately drawn to the Hollywood Murals and some of the artist district of Downtown Los Angeles. We also got to use the abandoned zoo in Griffith Park which I have been wanting to do for some time. It was awesome! But through all of the planning, scouting, prop hunts, and execution, what really stands out in the end about this session to me would be the magic that is Matthew and Brittany. Not only did these two rock the session, but they made it so much fun that I’m still laughing about things that happened day (“Like a Waterfall” – inside joke). So here’s to one epic duo. Congrats on your engagement! I can’t wait to see what your wedding will be like.
I got a thing for American Gothic tributes. Guilty Pleasure.
Downtown Los Angeles Engagement Session – Jason & Mai
Well we had to battle some of the elements for this one, as it was a wee bit windy and an itsy bit cold, but in spite of it all Jason and Mai rocked this session! I’m just glad that the wind and balloons didn’t create an unwanted “Up” experience. I had a really a fantastic time with these two as we traversed the city with a fun editorial style theme for the day. We got to play with some fun color and light at the Disney Concert Hall and even got to venture inside the gorgeous Biltmore Hotel for some classy shots there as well. All in all this was one rockin’ day and I am excited for their wedding coming up at Rancho Las Lomas!
Brannon & Darlene Are Gettin’ Hitched!
Man what a fun day this was! Got to spend some time with Brannon and Darlene (one amazingly cool couple), got to play with some amazing light, tons of color, and to top it all off we ended the day over some of the best sushi I’ve had in awhile (Hama Sushi in little Tokyo). Good call Darlene! I think what really stood out to me is that these two kinda really like each other. A lot. I think it’s awesome to not just be in love, but to also be in deep like. To truly enjoy the one your with. I think their shared passion for life and ability to make each other laugh plays a huge part in that. But alas, don’t take my word for it, have a look for yourself:
Kevin and Yi’s Whimsical Engagement Session – Pasadena, CA
Bubbles, Cameras, Kites, Color, and ton’s of Love. It’s hard to go wrong with that combo. I absolutely loved this session and I am excited to get to work with Kevin and Yi’s again at their wedding this summer at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel. Union Station Engagement Session – Jennifer and Doug
Practically perfect in every way. Union Station provides a rustic warmth bursting with romance and visual intrigue that is hard to come by in LA. The architecture inside makes me want to jump into an old movie. Top that off with an incredible couple and you got yourself one visual/fun/exciting/romantic engagement session. I had such a blast getting to shoot with Jennifer and Doug as we hopped trains and made our way through the city and up and down alleys. They were so great to be around and really embodied the concepts for the shoot. Fantastic locations, great clothes, fun accessories, and an amazing couple makes for a fantastic shoot! Thanks for rocking this session guys!
Love Where You Live & Live To Love – A Color Packed Engagament Session – Venice Beach, CA
This was a visually saturated session with tons of color and fantastic light featuring the stylish streets of the Abbot Kinney district in Venice Beach, the Canals, and some good ol’ classic California shorelines. Alyssa and Jesse really wanted to do a session that not only captured who they are as a couple, but a session that also embodied what they love about where they live. And in their case I think that where they have chosen to live says a lot about who they are as well. Full of life, style, color, and love, these two go hand in hand with each other and their environment.
