Catching up on some blogging! Love these two and love this city.
Um, yeah. This session was rockin’. We shot at the infamous W Hotel Hollywood which provides a versatile and visually stunning back drop, but the real stars of this session would be our fabulous lovebirds. Tim & Maya packed this session with tons of style, edge, personality, and of course lots o’ love. Can’t go wrong with a little strawberry flirtation and Coca-Cola bottles right? Thanks for an awesome day guys! You killed it!
Love & Light
These are a few of my favorite things
And this session was overflowing with both.
Thanks for an amazing day Mark and Brianne! I am so excited about being a part of your wedding.
Loving this session at Vasquez Rocks with Chris and April! Such a fun couple with a great story. They actually met at a Military Ball a few years back when April was talked into going as a blind date for one of the officers. At the last minute her original date dropped out and April almost decided against it herself. Fortunately for both of them Chris was found as a replacement and serendipity soon took hold of the situation. As you may have guessed, the date went pretty well I’d say. Congrats to Chris and April on their engagement and here’s to a life full of love and happy accidents.
Well, I am about to get on a plane to Oregon for this weekends wedding, but I just couldn’t leave before posting some teasers from Alicia & Mike’s gorgeous Santa Barbara engagement session. Truly a fun, romantic, and amazing day with a stunning couple. Enjoy! More when I return.
We went a little nuts with this session, and I freaking love it! From the planning to the execution I knew this was going to be a day to remember. So glad I wasn’t wrong about that. -Winky Face Emoticon-
Matthew and Brittany are both power packs of personality and fun and I really wanted to capture that about them as well as incorporate some of what makes them tick. It became clear very quickly that they both share a passion for movies, music, and the arts. So this session was definitely tilted in a direction towards the creative, colorful, and thematic. In scouting I really wanted to utilize a lot of color while also capturing a classic feel so I was immediately drawn to the Hollywood Murals and some of the artist district of Downtown Los Angeles. We also got to use the abandoned zoo in Griffith Park which I have been wanting to do for some time. It was awesome! But through all of the planning, scouting, prop hunts, and execution, what really stands out in the end about this session to me would be the magic that is Matthew and Brittany. Not only did these two rock the session, but they made it so much fun that I’m still laughing about things that happened day (“Like a Waterfall” – inside joke). So here’s to one epic duo. Congrats on your engagement! I can’t wait to see what your wedding will be like.
I got a thing for American Gothic tributes. Guilty Pleasure.
Well we had to battle some of the elements for this one, as it was a wee bit windy and an itsy bit cold, but in spite of it all Jason and Mai rocked this session! I’m just glad that the wind and balloons didn’t create an unwanted “Up” experience. I had a really a fantastic time with these two as we traversed the city with a fun editorial style theme for the day. We got to play with some fun color and light at the Disney Concert Hall and even got to venture inside the gorgeous Biltmore Hotel for some classy shots there as well. All in all this was one rockin’ day and I am excited for their wedding coming up at Rancho Las Lomas!
Man what a fun day this was! Got to spend some time with Brannon and Darlene (one amazingly cool couple), got to play with some amazing light, tons of color, and to top it all off we ended the day over some of the best sushi I’ve had in awhile (Hama Sushi in little Tokyo). Good call Darlene! I think what really stood out to me is that these two kinda really like each other. A lot. I think it’s awesome to not just be in love, but to also be in deep like. To truly enjoy the one your with. I think their shared passion for life and ability to make each other laugh plays a huge part in that. But alas, don’t take my word for it, have a look for yourself:
Bubbles, Cameras, Kites, Color, and ton’s of Love. It’s hard to go wrong with that combo. I absolutely loved this session and I am excited to get to work with Kevin and Yi’s again at their wedding this summer at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel. Practically perfect in every way. Union Station provides a rustic warmth bursting with romance and visual intrigue that is hard to come by in LA. The architecture inside makes me want to jump into an old movie. Top that off with an incredible couple and you got yourself one visual/fun/exciting/romantic engagement session. I had such a blast getting to shoot with Jennifer and Doug as we hopped trains and made our way through the city and up and down alleys. They were so great to be around and really embodied the concepts for the shoot. Fantastic locations, great clothes, fun accessories, and an amazing couple makes for a fantastic shoot! Thanks for rocking this session guys!
